عن أنس رضي الله عنه عن الرسول صلى الله عليه و سلم قال: إِنْ قَامَتْ السَّاعَةُ وَفي يَدِ أَحَدِكُمْ فَسِيلةٌ، فَإِنْ اسْتَطَاعَ أَنْ لاَ يَقُومَ حَتَّى يَغْرِسَهَا؛ فَلْيَغْرِسْها

Anas bin Mālik relates that the prophet (peace be upon him) said: "If the Hour arrives and in the hand of one of you is a Faseelah and if he could stay until it was planted; So let him plant it."

Earth Day 2011 Events in Jeddah


Earth Day has been around for over 40 years. Each year they have a different theme that reflects what needs the most awareness.

Earth Day 2011: A Billion Acts of Green®

Technically, the idea this year revolves around registering one billion acts of green in pledges for the Earth Summit in Rio in 2012.
The campaign includes
  • Athletes for the Earth: Bringing the voices of Olympic and professional athletes to the environmental movement
  • The Canopy Project: Supporting global reforestation
  • Green Schools: Greening America’s Schools within a Generation
  • Women and Green Economy (WAGE)™: Engaging women leaders in the creation and development of a global green economy
  • Creating Climate Wealth: Convening 200 of the world’s entrepreneurs to solve climate change and create a new green economy
  • Arts for the Earth: Celebrating the work of environmental artists in all media, and partnering with the American Association of Museums to bring sustainability to museums nationwide



In Jeddah, it's going to simply be a day to spread awareness about taking care of our Earth.

Thursday: April 21, 2011

Al-Nabtah is having a fun day for mothers and kids. CLICK HERE FOR THE FACEBOOK EVENT.
Here's what they say:
Alnabta's Earth Day event "Our Environment, Our World" for ladies and children, will target raising awareness and loyalty towards planet earth. It will include several Alnabta games, an Eco friendly bazaar, different green organizations and more..Looking forward to your participation and support :)

Thursday & Friday: April 21-22, 2011

SENS (Saudi Environmental Society) will have clean ups in the Red Sea (by diving) and on the corniche both these days.

SENS is also having an exhibition at the Hilton and a celebration at the Park Hyatt Corniche.
